Meng’s installation deals with the idea that we once belonged to nature, and we have been destroying/overtaking it. A mannequin (female) will be used for this specific work to represent our connection with our landscapes, as it also represents our constant referral to our “motherland or mother earth” as a figure of speech.


For Meng, material studies are essential for the execution of his work, and he will be using cotton wool with primer to shape the mannequin. This is a method that he has been experimenting with in his paintings, and would like to take this opportunity to translate it into 3D.
