There are endless campaigns in Singapore for a clean and green environment, however, not all methods employed work all the time. Some actually destroys the very essence of the indigenous landscape.
The artwork created for The Eden Project is inspired by the theory of 19th century Russian landscape. Russian landscape artists seek the very essence of their countryside, but as a Singaporean, Benny wishes to discover the idea of Singapore’s current landscape.
Hence, Benny’s work will make use of painting as a medium to question our “Garden City” environment and search for an ideal “Singaporescape” by using painting to also question the existence of such a landscape.
